USA Today bestselling author Nana Malone's love of all things romance and adventure started with a tattered romantic suspense novel she "borrowed" from her cousin.

It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick-butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination constantly channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

While she waits for her chance at a job as a ninja assassin, Nana works out her drama, passion and sass with fictional characters every bit as brazen and kick-butt as she thinks she is.

Cover Reveal - It's Complicated by Missy Johnson

Title: It’s Complicated
Series: Awkward Love #1
Author: Missy Johnson
Genre: Romance
Cover Design: Indie Sage
Release Date: December 13, 2017

They call him the Anaconda, and I'm pretty sure it isn’t because he likes snakes.

Nick Jenson is my neighbor. My hot, oh-so-sexy, very-well-equipped neighbor that I’d spend hours watching from the safety of my bedroom window.

I saw lots of things I probably shouldn’t have. Sometimes I’d touch myself, imagining it were his hands roaming over my body instead of my own. I had just one mission—to find out if the rumors were true.

Then one day, he caught me watching him.

I was mortified. I was prepared to quit college, move to another country, and live the rest of my life saying, “Nick who?” But, apparently, life had other ideas.

Because Nick? Well, he isn’t just my neighbor … He’s also my father’s best friend. If I thought things were difficult before, they were about to get a whole lot more complicated.

Oh, and those rumors? Holy fuck, are they true …

I throw the rest of my coffee down the sink, suddenly unable to stomach it. I wait for dad to leave for work before I bolt next door search of Nick. I find him just as he’s closing his front door. I glance at the car, where the kids are already strapped in.

“Hey,” he says with a smile. He frowns when he sees my expression.

“Do you need to tell me something, Nick?” I growl, with my hands resting on my hips.

The color drains from his face. “Fuck. He told you, didn’t he? I’m so sorry, Anna. I couldn't help it. He invited himself along. What was I supposed to say to the guy?” he says weakly.

“Jesus, Nick. How about no?” I retort, still in disbelief.

“I'm sorry,” he protests again. “I really had no choice. Short of saying hey, I'm fucking your daughter, there was nothing that would’ve gotten me out of this.”

“Fine,” I growl, knowing I can’t be angry at him for this. “So, what’s the plan?” I say, rubbing my temples.

“I hired a houseboat. For a week,” he muttered.

“A freaking houseboat?” I laugh, shaking my head.

“Jesus keep your voice down,” he hisses, glancing at his car.

“You're telling me that for the next week, I'm stuck on a houseboat with my boyfriend, my father—who also happens to be my boyfriend’s best friend, and my boyfriend’s two kids?” Nick winces. “And you want me to keep my voice down?”

“Uh, is now a bad time to mention you dad just called me? He wanted to check that it was okay to bring Mandy.”

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” I mutter, shaking my head. “He must’ve called you the second he left the house.”

This just keeps getting better and better. I liked Mandy, but it annoyed me that he made this big deal about us spending time together only to turn around and invite his girlfriend.

What the hell am I going to do?

Kayla is in such bad hysterics that she's practically falling off the kitchen counter when I tell her about the mess that is my life.

“Are you fucking kidding me?” she huffs, barely able to spit the words out. “You've got to get me a ticket on that boat.”

“It’s not a fucking show, Kayla,” I growl. “There are no tickets.”

“Bullshit. This is going to be the show of the year,” Kayla giggles.

“Come on, please be serious, Kales,” I frown.

“I am being serious. You need me there,” Kayla says. The laughter is gone and there is nothing but honesty in her voice. The thing I love about Kayla is as crude and blunt as she can be, when you need her, she’s there. “I can help out with the kids and buy you more time alone with Nick. You think you’re gonna get any time with him without me there to cause a distraction?”

I think about it. Maybe having her there wasn't the worst idea in the world. If something went wrong and I needed an out, I know Kayla would figure something out for me.

Missy lives in a small town in Central Victoria with her husband, and her confused pets (a dog who think she's a cat, a cat who thinks he's a get the picture).

When she's not writing, she can usually be found looking for something to read.

I got extremely happy when I got an ARC (Advanced Reading Copy) of this book since it talks about a friends-to-lovers romance, a kind of romance I love so much, and it didn’t disappoint.
The action takes place around Allie and Colt, two best friends that are secretly in love with each other and that, for years, have hidden their feelings for each other out of pure fear. Time goes by and when Allie decides to visit Colt during the Summer at the university where he studies he knows, for the good of both, that he must do something.
The book starts by following the friendship of these two characters during a certain time span and the signs that lead them to never admit to each other their feelings, and I really enjoyed the fact that the author committed herself into giving us this backstory, since it’s a very important part for the action, not only so we can strengthen the relationship reader-characters, but also to give us, the reader, the bigger picture of the relationship between these two.
Like I talked about earlier, this book talks about a friends-to-lovers romance, so we always have that edge-of-seat feeling where we know they like each other but they don’t really understand the feelings of the other. However, the author very well explored this whole question.
Now talking about the characters. My main problem was with Allie – I started by thinking that she was an extremely funny and sweet character, but while the story developed and up until about half of the book, she managed to, through her actions, annoy me constantly, besides the fact that she spends most of the books just weeping for everything. Regarding Colt, he was a character that, even though he also made stupid decisions, I simply loved. I also really liked the fact that the book was told in two POV’s (Point of View), what allowed us to have two visions of the same story. As secondary characters I want to mention Den, Allie’s boyfriend, that I really started to like around half of the book because he’s a very loveable character, and colt’s housemates, Finn and Blex are, without a shadow of a doubt, two very funny characters and very well developed.
Overall, Breakway isn’t a completely new and surprising book – the idea already exists in many, many books and it’s explored in the exact same way in some. However, the construction of the characters and the way the book flows, alongside with the environment written by the author, have made this book extremely good and I recommend it.
Good readings.
(4 out of 5 stars)

  • «Don't be so hard on yourself. A broken heart is easy to fool... you fell in love with being love. But you can't force your heart to love a person back... no matter how badly you may want to.»

Kong: Skull Island - Opinião (Film Review)

(Post in english soon)
Kong: Skull Island

This is his home, we're just guests. But you don't go into someone's house and start dropping bombs, unless you're picking a fight", e eu não podia concordar mais.

  • This world never belonged to us. It belonged to them. The question is, how long before they take it back. Kong is not the only king.
  • Kong's a pretty good king. Keeps to himself, mostly. This is his home, we're just guests. But you don't go into someone's house and start dropping bombs, unless you're picking a fight.
  • I guess no man comes home from war, not really.
  • Sometime's there's no enemy until you look for one.

Series Reveal - Sins & Secrets Series by Willow Winters

Title: Sins & Secrets Series
Author: Willow Winters
Genre: Romantic Suspense

Love is inexplicable. It makes you do crazy things. Love is blind… that’s a saying for a reason, isn’t it?

If anyone ever heard my story, they’d say what I did was wrong.

Even my closest friends. They wouldn’t understand. No one would.

But even my friends have sins and secrets of their own. Their stories would send chills down your spine and make you think twice about just how powerful love can be. How corrupt… how deadly.

I’ll do what I do best as an author. I’ll write my tale, but they aren’t safe. I won’t let them judge me without having their own dark stories unveiled as well.

I’ll write it all down and put a pretty little bow on it.

The Sins and Secrets Series of Duets is here.

with love,

Jules (Imperfect, Sins and Series book 1)

Willow Winters is so happy to be a USA Today, Wall Street Journal and #1 Contemporary Bestselling Romance Author. She likes her action hot and her bad boys hotter. She certainly doesn’t hold back on either one in her writing!

Willow started writing after having her little girl, Evie, December 2015. All during her pregnancy with Evie she continued to read and she only wanted to read romance. She was reading a book a day — sometimes two.

In January 2016 Willow was staying up late with Evie and just thinking of all these stories. They came to her constantly so she finally sat down and just started writing. She always wanted to do it so she figured, why not? Today Willow cannot be happier for making that decision!
