Antes de ler este livro, vi diversos comentários positivos quanto à história e, obviamente, fiquei curiosa. Por isso, quando tive a hipótese de o ler, aproveitei-a, e ainda bem que o fiz. Apesar de ser a minha primeira leitura do ano, vai ser, sem sombra de dúvidas, dos meus livros favoritos de 2018 e um dos meus livros de ficção preferidos da vida.
O primeiro livro da série Koldbrann, Rebeldes, conta a história de Diana Salvatore, uma rapariga que vive num mundo apocalíptico onde as pessoas são fechadas em fortalezas e as raparigas férteis são obrigadas a casar, até aos 20 anos, e a ter filhos. Enquanto que os homens e as mulher não férteis são obrigados a seguir a carreira militar. No entanto, Diana, desde nova, que deseja seguir os passos da sua mãe adotiva, ser militar. Num mundo onde tal não lhe é permitido, ela vai tentar, por todos os meios, mudar o que lhe está destinado.
Como podem perceber pelo que acabei de descrever, o livro centra-se muito na ideia de não aceitarmos aquilo que nos é imposto, de lutarmos e de seguirmos os nossos sonhos. E essa foi, sem dúvida nenhuma, uma vertente muito bem explorada. Na verdade, em geral, todo o livro, e o mundo em que a história ocorre, foi extremamente bem criado e dá para perceber que cada detalhe foi pensado e repensado ao pormenor.
Quanto às personagens em si, é nos apresentado um conjunto completamente diferente e realista onde as pessoas erram e sofrem com os seus erros. No entanto, e isso é o melhor das personagens, ninguém é perfeito. Tenho de realçar uma personagem por quem eu me apaixonei perdidamente, o Josh, o melhor amigo da Diana e que é, na minha opinião, das melhores personagens masculinas que encontrei enquanto leitora, assim como a amizade entre os dois.
Tive uma ótima experiência de leitura, não apenas pela maravilha que é o livro, mas também porque tive a oportunidade de ler em conjunto com a
@writer_gabby e a
@600páginas (sendo que foi muito interessante ver as diferenças entre os pensamentos das três relativamente aos acontecimentos) e fui ainda comentando a leitura com a própria autora, o que tornou a leitura ainda mais interessante, e é algo que vocês próprios também podem fazer, mandado mensagem no instagram para

Relativamente à história em si, acho que foi muito bem construída, repleta de ação e com uma representação dos acontecimentos extremamente realista, assim como, em momento nenhum, senti a história arrastar. Pelo contrário, somos constantemente bombardeados com acontecimentos e informação que só nos faz querer ler mais, até que, quando damos por ela, encontramos as palavras "Fim da primeira parte" e não podemos esperar até pegar o segundo livro.
Um pormenor que, inicialmente, me meteu um pouco de impressão, foi o facto de que as personagens por vezes intercalam o português com outras línguas. No entanto, rapidamente o leitor se habitua, tanto que são sempre pequenas frases ou até mesmo palavras, nada que prejudique a avaliação final do livro e, pelo menos na minha opinião, tendo em atenção o contexto do livro, tem até lógica.
Quanto ao final, quando este chegou, encontrei-me numa situação rara: apesar de ter amado o livro, conseguia também apontar pequenas questões que normalmente me fariam diminuir o rating para 4.5 (ou até mesmo 4) estrelas. Mas não consegui. Não apenas por todos os pontos positivos enumerados anteriormente, mas mais pelos sentimentos que a história me provocou. Senti mil e uma sensações diferentes, e isso cobriu qualquer outro pequeno problema que tenha tido com o livro.
Como já referi, a autora criou um excelente livro e eu fiquei, honestamente, fã do seu trabalho. Por estes motivos, obviamente, que recomendo muito este livro.
Por último, deixem-me só realçar esta capa maravilhosa pela qual eu me apaixonei. Um grande obrigada à autora pela oportunidade que me deu de dar a minha opinião e por me apresentar a este mundo pelo qual eu me apaixonei.

Before reading this book, I saw several positive comments about the story and, of course, I was curious. So when I had the chance to read it, I took it, and I'm glad I did it. Despite being my first reading of the year, it will be, without a doubt, one of my my favorite books of 2018 and one of my favorite books of fiction in life.
The first book in the Koldbrann series, Rebeldes (Rebels), tells the story of Diana Salvatore, a girl living in an apocalyptic world where people are locked in forts and fertile girls are forced to marry and have children. While unfertile men and women are required to pursue a military career. However, Diana, since her childhood, wishes to follow the footsteps of her adoptive mother, be a military. In a world where this is not allowed, she will try, by all means, to change what is intended to her.
As you can see from what I have just described, the book is very focused on the idea of not accepting what is imposed on us, of struggling and following your dreams. And this was, without a doubt, a very well explored strand. In fact, in general, the whole book, and the world in which the history occurs, was extremely well created and you can see that every detail has been thought and rethought several times. As for the characters themselves, we are presented with a completely different and realistic set where people make mistakes and suffer from that. However, and this is the best part about the characters, no one is perfect. I have to highlight a character I've fallen in love with, Josh, Diana's best friend and who, in my opinion, is one of the best male characters I've come across as a reader, as well as the friendship between the two.
I had a great reading experience, not only because of how amazing the book is, but also because I had the opportunity to read along

As far as the story itself is concerned, I think it was very well built, action-packed and the events were extremely realistic, and in any moment I felt the story drag. On the contrary, we are constantly bombarded with events and information that only makes us want to read more, until we find the words "End of the first part" and we can't wait until we get the second book.
One detail that initially was weird, was the fact that the characters sometimes intersect Portuguese with other languages. However, quickly the reader becomes accustomed, and they're always small phrases or even words, nothing that would prejudice the final rating of the book and, at least in my opinion, seeing the context of the book, even has logic.
As for the ending, when it arrived, I found myself in a rare situation: despite having loved the book, I could also point out small issues that would normally make me lower the rating to 4.5 (or even 4) stars. But I couldn't. Not just for all the positive points listed above, but more for the feelings that the history has provoked in me. I felt a thousand and one different sensations, and this covered up any other minor problems I had with the book.
As I mentioned, the author has created an excellent book and I was, honestly, a fan of her work. For these reasons, obviously, I highly recommend it.
Lastly, let me just highlight this wonderful cover that I fell in love with. A big thank you to the author for the opportunity she gave me to give my opinion and for introducing me to this world that I fell in love with.
