Opinião: Depois de ver uma opinião bastante positiva relativamente a
este livro, decidi finalmente pegar-lhe e foi uma escolha acertada uma vez que
este livro se tornou o melhor Young Adult que eu li na minha vida.
O livro acompanha a Hannah, uma rapariga com um passado
complicado e que está a ajudar o Garrett, um incrível jogador de hóquei a quem
todas as raparigas se atiram, a não reprovar a uma cadeira. Em troca, o Garrett
tem de a ajudar a conquistar o Justin, um rapaz que tem uma cadeira em comum
com eles e por quem a Hannah se sente atraída.
A premissa em si parece igual a todas as outras: temos a
rapariga que não suporta o rapaz que se atira a todas que a vai ajudar na vida
amorosa e, quando menos esperam, apaixonam-se. No entanto, a escritora
conseguiu pegar numa premissa banal e torná-la única.
O meu amor por este livro começou logo quando a
personalidade da Hannah se começou a mostrar que, junto com a do Garrett, se
torna hilariante.
Ao fim de umas cem páginas,
eu estava
tão viciada neste livro que o terminei em menos de 24h.
Relativamente à história, o que mais gostei neste livro é do
facto de que, quando as personagens principais ouvem boatos um sobre o outro,
não fazem aquela cena cliché de andarem a evitar-se ou de discutirem sem deixar
o outro falar, eles simplesmente perguntam se é verdade ou não. Ou seja, a
autora não criou a, na minha opinião, irreal falha de comunicação que acaba com
os casais nos livros deste género.
Depois temos o fantástico humor que rodeia todo o livro:
existem sim temas pesados mas até esses a autora consegue logo desanuviar com
um pouco de humor.
Em geral, o livro está extremamente bem escrito, criado e
construído, e as personagens são, sem dúvida nenhuma, mais realistas do que o
normal em YA. Recomendo muito.

Review: After seeing a very positive review about this
book, I finally decided to read it. It was very smart decision since I now find
this book the best young adult book I have ever read.
This book follows a girl with a troubled
past, Hannah, while she tries to help Garrett, an incredible hockey player that
is every girl’s dream, not to fail a class. In exchange, Garrett must help her
conquer Justin, the boy they have a class in common with and with whom Hannah
is attracted to.
The premise itself sounds like every other
YA novel: we have the girl that cannot stand the boy that is going to help her
in her love life that, by any chance, flirts with every girl and, suddenly,
they fall in love. However, the author took a common premise and made it
unique.
My love for this book started when Hannah’s
personality started to show and, when mixed up with Garrett’s, it became
hilarious.
After about 100 pages, I was so addicted to
the book that I ended it in less than 24 hours.
Regarding the story, the part that I liked
the most about this book is that when the main characters heard rumours about
each other, they didn’t do that whole cliché thing of avoiding each other or
having a one-sided fight, they would simply ask each other if it was true or
not. So, in my opinion, the author didn’t create the fake lack of communication
that is often found in books of this genre.
After all of this, we have a fantastic
sense of humour that is all around the book. Yes, there are some heavy themes,
but the author was able to lighten up the mood with bits of humour here and
there.
Overall, the book is extremely well written
and very well put together and the characters are, without a doubt, more
realistic than normal YA novels. I recommend this very much.

Por norma num mês o youtuber que mais vejo está relacionado com livros, mas desde que conheci o canal Exploring With Josh que estou completamente viciada nos vídeos dele a explorar lugares abandonados por todo o globo. Algo que eu realmente gosto nos vídeos dele é que ele não cria situações dramáticas para ganhar visualizações, como muitos fazem que sempre que vão visitar um sítio abandonado. Eu realmente aprecio os vídeos dele e estou completamente viciada nos lugares incríveis que ele visita e as coisas fantásticas que ele nos mostra.
